  • Salthaven Rehabilition teams up with Ticket Window at Oxford Renaissance Festival

Earlier in June, volunteers from the Salthaven Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Centre, located in Mount Brydges, Ontario, teamed up with TicketWindow at the gates of the Oxford Renaissance Festival to help money for a unique and important cause.

Salthaven is a volunteer wildlife rehabilitation facility that is located just outside of London, Ontario. Salthaven works to help rehabilitate displaced, sick, injured, or orphaned wildlife. They receive calls about animals throughout the entire year from local and regional police, humane societies, animal care and control agencies, the Ministry of Natural Resources, Canadian Wildlife Services, and the public.

Not only does Salthaven work to rehabilitate wildlife year around, but they continually work with local and regional school boards help educate and raise awareness about the importance of rehabilitation. In this respect, the organization also works with International and domestic students in order to help provide students and learners with the opportunities for training, volunteering, and personal achievement and growth.

Throughout the entire weekend, Salthaven’s support and dedication not only helped educate attendees of the festival, but their work helped make the Oxford Renaissance Festival a major success.

  • 5th Annual Stratford Blues and Ribfest

Once again, the Stratford Blues and Ribfest was bigger and better than ever, showcasing some of the country’s most acclaimed bands, voices, and, of course, ribs, all in the heart of the picturesque downtown Stratford.

Emerging local acts filled both Saturday and Sunday afternoon with performances that left audiences wanting more.  Whether it was the soulful harmony and powerful dance hall beats of Circle 5 or one of Canada’s best-kept secrets and masterful guitarists in Michael Schatte, renowned and new talent was on full display on the water at the 5th Annual Stratford Blues and Ribfest.

Award-winning featured performers, including Monkey Junk and Patrick Brealey, carried on the momentum of the opening acts with absolutely show stopping performances in front of a packed house on Saturday night and on Sunday afternoon.

The music perfectly embodied the beauty, culture, architecture, and community of Stratford. In addition to the music, fans enjoyed some of the best ribs to come to southwestern Ontario alongside unique vendors that added the charm.

The 5th Annual Stratford Blues and Ribfest certainly left a successful imprint on both the fans and the City of the Stratford.
